You CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Charity Name: Ubuntu Gospel Outreach UK

The charity is aimed at the local community on the shore of Lake Tanganyika in Burundi, providing them with livestock; providing sponsorship money to support young people’s education; enabling the community to engage in enterprising and self sustaining activities.

The charity is aimed at the local community on the shore of Lake Tanganyika in Burundi providing and teaching them to look after livestock e.g. breed pigs and cows; to teach them how to plant trees and shrubs to reverse the process of the land becoming desert; providing sponsorship money so that young people can go to school; to train people to become ‘small holders’ growing cash crops. Project activities controlled from the UK, but implemented locally by our partner charity in Burundi include: first to provide a water pipe to the village where most of the local community live; second to provide a fence around a plot of 3 acres of land. We will seek to work with other charities to get plants and seeds to cultivate this plot. The intent is to create the equivalent of a UK small-holding for the early provision of education and a few animals as a shared resource to the community. The local Ubuntu charity will organize suitable skilled trainers to improve the husbandry and livestock management skills of the local community
