They care for horses which have reached an age or are in a state of illness that would make them unsuitable for loaning out. In addition, EMW UK is dedicated to monitoring the welfare of equines in markets and auctions.

The Exotic Pet Refuge was formally founded in 1984 by Pam Mansfield and her late husband Mel. It has since grown significantly due to the number, currently well over 300 of mammals, birds and reptiles brought to its door,it has been located on its current 4 acre site since 1996. The animals include monkeys, lynx, otters, lemurs, alligator, snakes, meerkats, owls plus many more. They have six Open Days per year. It costs approx £48,000 a year to run and is staffed by Pam, her family and volunteers.
