The Haven Wolverhampton is a registered charity which aims to provide quality and sensitive services to women and any dependent children who are affected by Domestic Violence and Homelessness and are in need of safety, shelter, stability and support.
Set up in 1973, The Haven Wolverhampton has 5 refuges in the Wolverhampton area and can accommodate up to 46 women and 100 children at any one time. Refuges are based in secure confidential locations and support services are tailored to meet  the needs of the residents. In 2006 The Haven opened the UK’s first purpose built refuge for women affected by mental ill health as a result of experiencing Domestic Violence.
The Haven receives over 2000 referrals a year from women and children in need of refuge support. The Haven also supports over 70 families in the community through our Community Advocacy Support service which provides practical and emotional support on safety planning and accessing the legal system. Additional services include a 24 hour helpline, counselling, children's service, resettlement and volunteering programmes.
The Haven Wolverhampton’s vision is for all women and children to live in a society free from oppression, homelessness, violence and abuse and to promote and uphold human rights.
