CCS Adoption

CCS Adoption finds families for children who need them, but matching a child (or children) with a family is only the start of a lifelong adoption journey. All adopted children have experienced adverse childhood experiences; the impact of trauma can create lifelong issues including forming trusting relationships; social skills and relationships with peers; executive functioning skills; speech and language difficulties; learning difficulties; regulating their emotions; coping with transitions and change. CCS Adoption provides a range of programmes to adoptees and adoptive families to help build a loving family for children to grow up in.

Spending the money

Family finding is funded by local authority fees but adoption support isn’t, it relies on vital charitable funds. Every year we need to raise £160,000 to fund our specialist adoption support programmes that provide adoptees or adoptive families with the opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge. The sessions and groups also build confidence and self-esteem through working with specialist workers or being with others with a shared identity or similar challenges.
