You CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Charity Name: Peace Hospice
The Peace Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people from across South West Hertfordshire with a life limiting or terminal illness. Most of our patients have cancer but an increasing number of others have conditions such as end stage heart disease, respiratory and neurological disease.
Our care is holistic and we look after the whole person, and their family/carers, helping with emotional and spiritual issues as well as physical symptoms. We focus on enabling patients to live their lives to the full and providing the best quality of life when a cure is not possible.
We provide inpatient care in a 12 bedded unit as well as day care and outpatient care. We also provide bereavement support to anyone from South West Hertfordshire who has been bereaved. We also run a hospice at home service which takes hospice care to patients in their own homes and gives
people the choice of staying at home to die.
The Hospice needs to raise over £3 million of charitable income every year in order to run and develop its services. All the care that the Hospice provides to its patients and their families is free.
