Tiny Changes
Tiny Changes is Scotland’s first national young people’s mental health charity. They run projects with young leaders that help young minds feel better. The charity was set up originally by the family of Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison, who took his own life in 2018. Tiny Changes is now run by a diverse team of staff and volunteers, each with their own story and personal connection to this important cause.
Tiny Changes believes that Scotland’s young people deserve great mental health, and they believe in their insight and innovation to make this possible. They nurture the talent of young people to find solutions that work for them. Tiny Changes has five part-time project leaders, all under 30. They each run a mental health pilot within their community. Their work includes film, podcasting, creatively challenging gender and racial stereotypes, student wellbeing, and a group of primary school mental health ambassadors.
On World Mental Health Day, 10 October 2025, Tiny Changes launched its biggest ever fundraising appeal – The Tiny But Mighty Appeal. Like all small charities, they are up against a harsh funding climate. Without bigger and long-term income, the team won’t be able to recruit new young leaders and co-produce more youth-led mental health projects. Young people need us now more than ever.
