Whoopsadaisy

Whoopsadaisy is a Brighton-based charity providing free Conductive Education for local children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders.

Whoopsadaisy’s story began when Nina Holland was inspired to set up a charity in Brighton to provide Conductive Education for local children having seen the dramatic difference it made to her son Christopher’s quality of life. The initial funds Nina raised enabled Whoopsdaisy to establish our first Parent and Child Group for just two children in 2008. Since then Whoopsadaisy’s services have steadily grown. We now provide vital learning and support for around 50 local children and their families.

Conductive Education is a programme of guided active learning where essential everyday movements and tasks are broken down into small achievable steps. By combining learning and play with rhythm and repetition each child learns to accomplish actions and achieve goals that other children simply take for granted, such as learning to sit up, crawl or take their first steps.

Parents tell us how difficult constantly caring for a disabled child can be – we are a lifeline for those parents. We are proud to say that most of our children make great progress thanks to our small team of amazing staff and volunteers.

We have been based Brighton since 2008. Local children depend on Whoopsadaisy, and we depend on our local community. Every penny raised directly helps children who go to Whoopsdaisy learn to do things for themselves and grow in confidence whilst having fun!

What our charity partners say

We’re so pleased to be working with Giveacar, to provide an easy and efficient way for everyone who’s passionate about mental health to support Mind. Over the years we’ve received over £29,000 from generous people who have chosen to donate the proceeds from their car to Mind. This amount of money could help Mind keep Side by Side open for 5 and a half weeks. Side by Side is Mind’s online community where anyone can join, talk and find support. 24/7. Right now, mental health support is needed more than ever. We’re so grateful to Giveacar and their customers for […]

Giveacar is a fantastic, innovative way for people to donate to Cancer Research UK. We are hugely grateful to Giveacar for all the amazing donations we have received. With Giveacar’s help, we will be able to fund even more research and get closer to beating cancer.

Cancer Research UK

We have been absolutely delighted to take part in the Giveacar scheme. We have had several cars donated to us through this scheme and it provides us with an additional way to riase very much needed funds to continue improving the lives of animals in The Gambia. It’s such an easy scheme to use and is easy for us as the charity, as well as being easy for th person who needs to scrap their car too.

Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust

So far, we have received an amazing £37,947.11 through Giveacar donations. Today, 771 million people don’t have clean water close to home and 1.7 billion people don’t have access to a proper toilet. Just £15 can help provide one person with safe water. Help us reach everyone everywhere with safe water, clean toilets and good hygiene by 2030. Thank you! Celeste Mottahedin-Fardo, , Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager

From a simple idea conceived by a young man with talent and vision ,we have watched this social business, with giving at its heart, grow to what it has become today – an amazing success – helping many worthwhile causes! Thank you Giveacar – you are enabling people to really make a difference to the lives of children through your support for the […]
