Through life-changing employment, housing and wellbeing services, they support people who are rough sleeping, or living in unstable accommodation, to leave homelessness behind permanently. Using research and direct experience with their members, they campaign for the political commitment and social changes needed to make homelessness in Britain a thing of the past.
Crisis’ 11 Skylight centres across Britain operate throughout the year, providing innovative education, employment, housing and well-being services to over 10,000 people. Coaches and tutors carefully address each individuals’ needs, giving them the tools, they need to find work, accommodation and positive wellbeing, so that they can leave homelessness behind, once and for all.
During the festive season, Crisis also provides a warm welcome to over 4,000 homeless people at Crisis at Christmas. In addition to a hot meal and a safe place to sleep, homeless people are given medical care, dentistry, haircuts, massages and a fresh set of clothes, as well as the opportunity to access Crisis’ Skylight services following the end of their stay.
